Keeping your home clean with pets: Tips from a clean freak with a lot of pets

Living with these cuties is amazing, but keeping the house clean can be a challenge. As a bit of a clean freak, I’ve found some budget-friendly tips (and a few splurges) to help keep our home looking pretty spotless.

Budget-Friendly Tips

1. Regular Grooming: Brush your pets often to reduce shedding. My dogs love this! They act like they’re at the spa.

2. Pet Zones: Create specific areas for your pets to eat, sleep, and play. Use washable mats and covers. My pets always want to be with me, so I've found that using couch covers, washing sheets and blankets frequently, and using a pet-friendly lavender spritz works best for us.

3. Lint Rollers: Keep lint rollers handy to quickly remove fur from furniture and clothes.

4. Microfiber Cloths: Great for dusting surfaces and picking up pet hair.

5.DIY Air Fresheners: Make your own with essential oils and water to keep your home smelling fresh. I added a lemon scent to my air filter, and it filled the whole house with such a pleasant smell.

6. Vinegar and Baking Soda: Perfect for cleaning pet stains and odors. My grandma taught me that these two products are magic.

7. Washable Pet Beds: Invest in ones you can easily clean. If your pet likes to tear up their bedding, I recommend the Pettycare Elevated Outdoor Dog Bed.

8.Bathing your pet every 1-3 months: Keeping your pets clean will definitely aid in keeping your house clean. You can take them to Tractor Supply and use their equipment for only $10 a dog.

2. Robotic Vacuum Cleaner: Keeps floors fur-free with minimal effort. I’m in love with mine! I’ve named him Marvin.

3. Pet-Specific Furniture Covers: Protect your furniture and are easy to wash. If you need to deep clean your couch beforehand, you can rent a Rug Doctor from Market Basket for $75.

4. Quality Vacuum Cleaners: Look for ones with strong suction and pet-specific attachments.
